Welcome to The Stone, and thanks for taking time to learn about us.


At The Stone, we are committed to shaping lives through the grace and truth of God's Word.


Grace meets us where we are, and truth calls us into who God created us to be. Through Christ-centered teaching, community, and discipleship, we help people grow into the fullness of life that Jesus offers.

Our Story

What to Expect

  • Service Times

    Sundays at 11:00 a.m.

  • Location

    319 N. Riverside Drive, Clarksville, Tennessee 37040.

  • What to Expect

    The people at The Stone are friendly and authentic. Expect a greeting at the door, grab a coffee, and join in conversation before the service starts. You will encounter folks of various ages, dressed casually, and ready to welcome you in.


    The service lasts about 1-1:15. We have contemporary music with words on a screen. The message usually focuses on a chapter in the Bible as we study a book at a time, lights let you take notes as we learn together.


    We have communion every week.


    We don’t pass the plate and those who can and feel lead give in a box in the back or online.




  • What about my kids?

    For Sunday Services kids 10 or under can be checked in prior to service and will be dismissed with children's volunteers after worship.


    It’s always optional.


    It’s normal to see pre teens and teens serving in the A/V booth, doing announcements or helping hand out communion.

    We consider ourselves non denominational, by that we mean that there isn’t a top

    • What type of Bible do you use?/ Should I bring?

    We usually use ESV but bring what you are comfortable with and follow along.

Our Beliefs

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.

  • God

    We believe in one God, Creator and Ruler of all things. He is Triune, eternally existing as three equal persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19)

  • Jesus Christ

    God the Son took on human flesh. He is fully God and fully man. He was the promised messiah. He lived sinlessly, died and rose again victorious over death. He is the only way to salvation. He is our King. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9; Galatians 2:20, John 1:1-5, 14; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-17)

  • The Holy Spirit

    We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of sin, (John 16;8) regenerate the believer, indwell, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service. (Acts 1:8)

  • Eternity

    We believe in the bodily resurrection of all humankind: the believer in Christ into everlasting joy (John 10:28-30), and the unbeliever into everlasting punishment. (Matthew 25:46)

  • The Bible

    We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God; accurate, reliable, and applicable to our daily lives, transcribed by human authors in harmony with The Holy Spirit. It is our final authority in matters of faith and we seek to understand it as intended by both God and the human author, in the context of the original languages and culture. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • Baptism

    We believe that all who follow Jesus are to be baptized, which we practice by immersion. Baptism is not itself what saves a person, but is a declaration of submission and obedience to Jesus and is, therefore, vital in the spiritual life of the believer. (Matthew 28:19)

  • Communion

    Jesus instituted the practice of communion for His church as a remembrance of His sacrifice, and to remind us of our unity in Him. All believers in attendance are invited to the Lord's Table each Sunday. (Mark 14:22-25; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-26)

  • Marriage

    Marriage is God's design, and not for man to redefine. The Stone takes the definition of marriage from The Bible, and considers any sexual relations outside of marriage to be sinful, contrary to God's Holy Word. (Genesis 1:27, 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6, Hebrews 13:4, Romans 1:18-24) We believe that God’s design for marriage is the union of one man and one woman as indicated by their biological sex. “Biological sex” means the condition of being male or female, which is determined by a person’s chromosomes, and is identified at birth by a person’s anatomy.

  • The Great Commission

    All those following Christ are called to reach others. We are to call them to follow Jesus, and then to disciple them as we all serve Him together. (Matthew 28:19)

Our Mission

Jesus gave the mission of all churches in Matthew 28: 18-20 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”


At The Stone we remember this mission, to make disciples or people who are becoming more Christ like, with 3 simple words, SEEK , SHAPE, SEND. We also remember it using our S logo.

Seek

We actively seek to impact others for Christ. We do this organically by being present and active in the community. We do this relationally by being trustworthy friends, family and coworkers. We do this intentionally through church wide projects and events.



Shape

We train new and growing Christ followers by using in context bible messages, interactive small groups, caring for one another, and encouraging individuals to allow God to shape them through prayer, worship and bible reading.

Send

As disciples mature we empower them to serve in the church, to train others, to go impact our community, and as a whole we save up resources to send or empower church planters and missionaries to repeat the disciple making process.
